Assalamualaikum..Hai
kawan-kawan^_^ ni anak bayar hutang entry..hehe. On 28 November our class need
to complish an assignment task for Learning Problems Curriculum subject.So, we
are having a visit to PDK Slim River on that particular day. What we do is to
find the based line for each student. Based line? paham tak? hehe..Its such we
evaluate and find their potential in a certain subject. My group task is find
the student based line for arts subject. The instrumen or method that we used
is "senarai semak". This is just one of the process for special edu
teachers use to find the best way or what they are going to teach the student.
Before start teaching the student we must make sure their potential and based
line.
Ouch..such an easy task.. That's what people
will say..But pleaseeeee don't judge a book by looking its cover^_^ Its quite
though actually when you need to convince the special students to co-operate
well with you. This special students is very special..and of course they not
behave like us. They have mood swing that we need to handle with care!
Its' such a skill that we ( special edu teacher) need to have. What skill?
Persuading skill..heheh. Say sweet words..be a freind or family for them..etc.
It's not such an easy task like what people might think. Some of them also have
communication problem.. and for my student case..oh..its really hard for me
to understand what he say and make he understand what we ask to do.. lets
say u ask him.." Ok..Ahmad..sila lukis satu garisan tebal dan satu garisan
nipis” and he
will look at you and blink his eyes..and start to sketch everything..( of
course not the line)
Ok, its really challenging.. They also will
make like you are teaching the wall. They might not noticed your present
in the class. They know you are in the class but they just keep doing
their work (usually sketching or reading) as you are not in the class.
However, do we need to blame the students? The are special right? So, we
also need to treat them with a special way^_^ That's the key! Ok, i'm not going
to babbling to much..hehe.. just enjoy the picture.. This PDK visit
really give me such an awesome experience=) OOpps!!!! before that..do you know
what is Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PDK) or Community Based
Rehabilitation..? Bukan sekolah tau!
The
aim of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is to help people with disabilities, by establishing community-based programs
for social integration, equalization of
opportunities, and rehabilitation programs for the disabled. The
strength of CBR programs is that they can be made available in rural areas
with limited infrastructure, as program leadership is not restricted to professionals
in healthcare,
education,
vocational or social
services. Rather, CBR programs involve the people with disabilities
themselves, their families and communities, as well as appropriate professionals.
